Mission Trip

Join us June 27 – July 4, 2027 in Guatemala.

Work on projects in the village and at the children's home, host Vacation Bible School for 200 children, and let the kids of Hogar Miguel Magone know how much they are loved — by God and by all of us.

The Week

What we'll do together.

Construction projects

Pour concrete floors, raise walls, and tackle desperate housing needs in the village of Aguacate and at the children's home. No special skills required — just willing hands.

Vacation Bible School

Help host a daily VBS for 200 village children — games, music, crafts, and the story of a God who loves them.

Time with the kids

The heart of the week: meals, soccer, laughter, and presence with the children of Hogar Miguel Magone.

Lodging

We stay at the Candelaria Hotel in Antigua, Guatemala — about a 45-minute drive from the work site. Sixteen rooms around a peaceful open-air courtyard, with a rooftop view of the volcanoes. Our group is typically the sole occupant of the entire hotel for the week.

Luggage

Pack your personal items in a carry-on if you can — checked-bag space is reserved for suitcases of donations (airline fees apply for extra checked bags).

Weather

Mid-70s °F year-round, with highs around 82 °F and lows near 60 °F. Afternoons can bring rain during the rainy season, and mosquitoes are possible in the evenings — pack a light rain layer and repellent.

Why We Go

The Starfish Story

A man walking a beach at dawn found it covered with thousands of starfish stranded by the tide. Ahead of him, a child was picking them up, one at a time, and throwing them back into the sea.

“There are thousands of them,” the man said. “You can't possibly make a difference.”

The child picked up another starfish and threw it into the waves.

“It made a difference for that one.”
